CEMEPIA Africa’s Vocational Training Initiative
As part of its core mission to eradicate poverty and illiteracy in Africa, CEMEPIA Africa has prioritized skills acquisition as a practical, sustainable solution for empowering vulnerable individuals. In partnership with Iberekodu Primary School in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, the organization established a vibrant Skill Acquisition Centre, offering free vocational training to over 300 children and adults—including survivors of child trafficking, child labour, and those from underprivileged backgrounds.
This initiative is built on the belief that everyone deserves a second chance and the opportunity to become self-reliant. The centre equips beneficiaries with hands-on training in high-demand, income-generating skills, such as:

Fashion Design – Teaching creativity and entrepreneurship in one of Nigeria’s most promising industries
Computer Training – Providing digital literacy for global relevance and remote work readiness
Bead Making – Fusing cultural expression with commercial opportunity
Carpentry Work – Imparting essential craftsmanship for construction and furniture production
Other Locally Relevant Skills – Tailored to community needs to support immediate economic engagement
Children receive vocational education alongside their academic curriculum
Helping Them Tebuild Confidence
Participants receive more than just skills—they benefit from mentorship, counselling, and emotional support, helping them rebuild confidence, rediscover hope, and find purpose. Many are able to begin earning income even before completing their training, setting them on a path toward sustainable independence.
Inclusive Compassionate Approach
What makes this centre unique is its inclusive, compassionate approach. All training is completely free of charge, removing financial barriers and ensuring no one is left behind due to economic hardship. Children receive vocational education alongside their academic curriculum, while adults from surrounding communities are also welcomed to learn and grow.
